...is a good summer thunderstorm.  I know it's not technically summer yet where there are thunderstorms, but you know.  There was just some good thunder boomers and rain on TV and I could practically smell it.

So heads up, Mother Nature.  Hook me up with a good T-storm when I'm home in Wisconsin in August.  Thank you in advance :)

I'm surfing around online after having a productive day of cleaning & bills & such, and am catching up on friends back home and the local Eau Claire/Chippewa Valley goings-on and I want to go home.  Eau Claire is home.  :(  I want to go have coffee at Racy's and get food at the Co-Op and walk on the Trail and take a yoga class with Sheri and enjoy ( Read more... )

I had a good travel day yesterday -- my first flight from San Diego to Minneapolis was uneventful... it was really nice to see green and water and open spaces again!  Here's Minneapolis from the air:

 Why oh why are all of the events I want to watch on after 10:00 pm?  Last night I fell asleep watching the Women's Team gymnastics final, tonight I wanted to watch the Men's all-around, but it is 9:38 pm and there is still beach volleyball on.  I am not going to last more than another 30 minutes, I'm afraid.  I'm old -- and ha, I'll be even older ( Read more... )

• Wed 9/10: Fly into Milwaukee at 4:31 pm...
• Thurs 9/11: Time in Milwaukee... zoo during the day when everyone is at work???  Anyone want to play hooky and hang out with me?
• Fri 9/12: Leave for Eau Claire in the AM... Aphasia Camp starting around 1-2:00 pm.  Stay overnight at camp.

• Living in a town with a bitchin' farmer's market
• Being able to walk or bike most places in nice weather
• Traffic with only a few lanes and no one trying to go 90 mph in gridlock and no motorcycles "splitting traffic"

Today on occasion, I could smell spring in the air -- a whiff of some flower here, a hint of citrus there, etc.  I drove with my windows down and will leave the house windows open tonight.  This is one thing that I do like about SoCal... though I will miss the spring hints that I'm used to from Wisconsin (watching for the first robin, the first ( Read more... )
